Adult Swim – Toonami ID

This project came to us (Zeppelin) through Apus Studio, an animation studio with very talented people with whom we constantly collaborate, as we share many aesthetic values. We grew up with Adult Swim in our veins, which is why we loved the opportunity to work on this ID.

The project focused on appealing to the inner child of the Adult Swim audience, using the iconic characters Tom and Sara as representatives of an old animation series. Additionally, Gaz Digzy from Ballmasters 9009 and Copernicus from Warrios Eternal were incorporated to represent more contemporary generations.

The video depicts Gaz and Copernicus being pursued by technological zombies, later revealing that Copernicus is actually Tom in disguise. The transformation of the zombies into cute anime characters references Adult Swim's "Toonami" block. The narrative approach centers on the generational crossover of characters, appealing to the audience's surprise and emotion. Technically, a multi-format approach was adopted, combining 3D and 2D elements, highlighting the transition from zombies to anime characters. This disruptive approach aims to contribute to the narrative of the story
